The Eldership Team
We believe in a plurality of elders - ie. all pastors are part of a larger body of men who have collective responsibility for the spiritual oversight of the church.
 Peter Somervell
Senior Pastor
Peter Somervell does most of the preaching at HBC. Peter was trained at The Master's Seminary in Los Angeles and was appointed at HBC in July 2006 after serving for several years at Wanganui East Baptist Church.

April 25, 2010, we farewelled our Associate Pastor, Calvyn Jonker as he took up his new calling as Senior Pastor of Wanganui East Baptist Church.

 Tony Nuñez
Assistant Pastor of Youth Ministries
Pastor Tony is overseeing Youth (180 Ministry) and assists with the preaching at HBC. Tony is an honours graduate from both The Master's College (B.A. Biblical Exposition) and The Master's Seminary (M.Div.), has over 10 years of experience in youth ministry and has led in 2 church plants in New Zealand.

Pastoral Care Co-ordinator
Barrie is usually the first contact with HBC many visitors have. Barrie oversees a team whose special ministry it is to make visitors feel welcome and to look after the specific needs of individuals / families in the church.
