This is a video recording of a sermon preached by Senior Pastor Peter Somervell of Howick Baptist Church on 21 November 2010, part of an ongoing preaching series on the book of 1 Timothy. In this sermon, Pastor Peter works through a number of gospel dilemmas that arise when we compare the passages in 1 Timothy 2:3-6 to others in the bible: 1) How can God desire that all people be saved when Scripture makes it clear that not all will be saved, only some, namely the elect? 2) How can God sincerely and genuinely love those whom He has not intervened to save? 3) For whom did Christ die for the elect, or did he die for all? If he died for all, is it unfair for God to send people to hell for sins that have already been paid for?
