Gideon's 300 (Judges 71-25)
From Series: "Judges: Broken People, Faithful God"
The book of Judges is all about how God offers his grace to people who do not deserve it, seek it or even appreciate it after they have been saved by it. Judges shows the failure of the Israelite people to conquer their enemies, claim their inheritance and the huge effect this has on their relationship with God. Throughout the book we see a repeated cycle - what we might call “the sin cycle” which is only partially broken when God intervenes by raising up judges. Many of them however get caught in the cycle themselves proving the inability of human saviours to truly deliver. All of this points to our need for a true Saviour; one who is strong enough to not only resist sin in His own life, but overcome it in ours.
